Royal Britannia’s MV Fingal – “Boatique Hotel”

The MV Fingal was commissioned in 1963 by the Royal Yacht Britannia (the last ship to be built by Blythswood Shipbuilding Company), and was known as the Northern Lighthouse Board's (NLB) tender Fingal until 2000, when it was renamed The MV Windsor Castle.  We were asked to create an Art Deco Lift in keeping with the original style.

Two Bespoke Elevators at Lincoln’s Inn

The first was a bespoke, two-stop, platform lift designed to service an entirely new commercial kitchen for the Old Hall and the second a four-stop bespoke lift to enable wheelchair access to the Crypt.

The Morritt Hotel

The present Morritt dates back to the late 17th Century when there was a farm on the site. Some of the farm outbuildings were used as such until this century when they were converted into the hotel and surrounding buildings. With the advent of the "horse-less carriage" the motor car, a motor repair shop, also dispensing petrol was built onto the Morritt and this ensured its survival as a travellers' resting-place.
